This glass-fronted Mediterranean villa stands directly above sandy Playa La Cala, with steps to the beach. Tropical planting, banana trees and owners’ carefully maintained lawns surround the saltwater pool; an outdoor sauna stands beside the beach gate. Airy, minimalist interiors place four bedrooms downstairs and the sea-view main suite upstairs. A rooftop terrace has a retractable pergola. Private yet walkable to La Cala de Mijas’ shops, beach clubs, bars and restaurants, it is 25 minutes from Marbella. The fishing town’s Wednesday and Saturday markets sell produce and crafts. Nearby are watersports, golf, dune boardwalks and coastal walks with occasional dolphin and whale sightings; Malaga is Picasso’s birthplace.

Standard rental inclusions cover water, gas and electricity; Wi-Fi; air conditioning and heating where available at the villa; an initial supply of bed linen and towels, changed weekly for stays exceeding 7 nights; welcome items; departure cleaning; and garden and pool upkeep. At some properties, electricity, air conditioning and heating consumption may be subject to a weekly allowance, where specified in the extra notes.

The rooftop terrace offers 180-degree sea views, extending to Morocco in clear weather, and a remotely operated pergola for shade during the day.
On the first floor, a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area has panoramic windows.
The first-floor main bedroom includes sea views, access to a balcony, a super king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom.
Of the four bedrooms on the ground floor, three have king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms.
One ground-floor bedroom contains a queen-size bed, a WC and a washbasin, with neither a shower nor a bath.
The enclosed garden contains a saltwater pool with heating available, a gym and an outdoor sauna offering traditional and infrared settings, operated from September to May.

Extra notes

Additional housekeeping can be arranged on request for EUR 20 per hour. Pool heating requires advance notice and costs EUR 500 per week. Air conditioning operates only with every door and window closed. Because of high summer temperatures, the sauna is available only from September to May. Massages, yoga and Reiki can be arranged on request at an additional charge, subject to availability. Saturday is the changeover day in July and August. Children are welcome, but the villa may not suit those under 5. Young children require close supervision around the open stairwell areas between the ground and first floors and between the first floor and rooftop terrace. The upper garden around the pool also has an unfenced drop to the lower garden, requiring close supervision of younger children.
