Mas Royal is a private Provençal manor on Isle de la Motte, 15 minutes from Avignon. Owner Shauna Varvel features it in ‘Provence Style’. Remodelled interiors combine high ceilings, antique French tableware, Provençal linens and Pierre Frey bed canopies with concealed speakers and air conditioning. Expansive, level grounds feature 200-year-old plane trees, rose arbours, box topiary, a heated 15.5m pool, dining pavilion, tennis and boules courts. Chefs, waiters, housekeepers and a concierge provide full staffing; a separate two-bedroom guesthouse accommodates grandparents or nannies. The Obamas stayed in 2019, hiking near Gordes, tasting wine at Chateauneauf-de-Pape and visiting L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue market.

The ground floor offers three dining spaces: a large kitchen connected to a breakfast room, a formal dining room seating 18, and l'orangerie seating 22.
A family room and a living room occupy the ground floor. Upstairs, reached by a staircase, are five bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and two additional bedrooms sharing a Jack and Jill bathroom.
The separate guesthouse contains a sitting room, a pizza oven and two additional bedrooms, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor.
Sports facilities comprise a fully equipped gym, a tennis court marked for pickleball with a basketball hoop, a boules court, table tennis and badminton.
