Son Balagueret is a Moorish stone finca on Richard Branson’s 300-hectare Son Bunyola estate in the Tramuntana Mountains. Its elevated hillside setting includes a courtyard, an annex bedroom and a 13th-century lookout tower containing a bedroom reached by spiral stone stairs and a vaulted bathroom. Four ensuite double bedrooms accommodate eight. Steps descend to the 12m heated saltwater pool; the estate’s private pebble beach is a 30-minute walk away. The five-star Son Bunyola hotel, opened in summer 2023 within a 16th-century finca, offers two restaurants, farm-to-fork dining, a spa, olive-oil massages and organised activities. A shared tennis court, hiking and cycling provide further outdoor options.

The details

One ensuite bedroom is on the ground floor, entered from the courtyard, and can be arranged with a double bed or twin beds.
The main house’s ground floor contains a kitchen with dining space, a dining area and a living room; a few steps lead up to the TV room.
The courtyard has an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue, while sea-facing terraces provide outdoor dining and seating areas.
Stairs from the dining room lead into the tower suite, ascending first to an ensuite bathroom, then to a living room, and finally to the double bedroom at the top on the second level.
A separate staircase above the kitchen leads to the third ensuite double bedroom. An exterior staircase descends to the fourth and final ensuite double bedroom.
Steps down the hillside lead to the heated saltwater pool, with sunbeds arranged around it.
Breakfast, either self-service at the villa or at the hotel, and daily housekeeping are included.
