American expatriate architects built Villa Destiny in 1970. Its Arabic-style dome attracted a Portuguese sailor, who bought it two years later; his family still owns it. A 1987 renovation introduced palms whose delivery halted village traffic. Whitewashed walls sit within four hectares of gardens; interiors combine travel-collected art, books, textiles and objects with 18th-century azulejos and handmade basketry. Most bedrooms open onto patios or gardens, alongside outdoor sitting areas and secluded corners. A pine-screened wellness tent holds exercise equipment and a massage table. Carvoeiro is a short walk away; Faro airport is under an hour away.

Inclusions

Two full-time resident caretakers provide breakfast cooking and grocery shopping every day except Wednesday. Groceries and a 10% shopping service charge are payable locally in cash; bank transfer is also possible for an additional fee.
A private chef prepares dinner every evening except Wednesday. Groceries are excluded and payable locally in cash, or by bank transfer with an additional fee.
Housekeeping is provided daily for 2–3 hours.
Bed linen and towels are changed midweek.
Pool heating is included; the temperature depends on weather conditions.
Toiletries are provided free of charge.
Standard rental inclusions cover water, gas and electricity, Wi-Fi, air-conditioning and heating where available, bed linen and towels on arrival, and weekly linen and towel changes for stays exceeding 7 nights. Welcome items, departure cleaning, and garden and pool maintenance are also included. At some properties, electricity, air-conditioning and heating use may be subject to a weekly allowance where specified in the extra notes.

The details

The ground floor contains a fully equipped kitchen, a living room and dining area opening onto the terrace, and one sea-view bedroom with a king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom.
The lower ground floor has two bedrooms: one ensuite twin room with a freestanding bathtub, convertible to a double on request, and a second twin room with an ensuite bathroom.
One TV room and three bedrooms have direct garden access: the main bedroom with a super king-size bed, ensuite bathroom and private courtyard; a second bedroom with a king-size bed and ensuite bathroom; and a twin bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.
The four-hectare grounds include a heated 15m infinity pool, a private tennis court, a wellness tent and direct access to the beach by ladder.
