On a large estate in the Vorno Valley beneath Monte Pisano, Casa Matteucci combines terracotta façades, aged stone floors, original beams, antiques and olive terraces. Classic interiors feature draped curtains and terracotta, ochre, sage and blue tones. Former resident Felice Matteucci invented the first stroke engine here in 1854, a precursor to modern cars.
A jasmine-covered gazebo offers secluded seating; ducks and swans inhabit a pond with a shaded island and wooden footbridge. Lucca is ten minutes by car or thirty by bicycle, with cycleable Renaissance walls. Florence and Siena are an hour away; Versilia’s beaches and Forte dei Marmi suit day trips.

- Maid service is available except on Sunday, alongside a concierge and a chef preparing breakfast and one other meal. The chef is off on Wednesday, and groceries are not included.

Extra notes
To protect every guest’s privacy, outside suppliers cannot enter the estate. Additional services must be arranged exclusively through the estate’s Concierge team, which can be contacted before arrival. This coordination is included in the rental.
Guests may use the estate’s multi-purpose tennis court, which can also be configured for soccer or volleyball. It is shared with other houses on the estate.
Electricity and air-conditioning are included up to 750 kWh per week.
Cribs and baby amenities can be arranged for an additional charge.
Meal and beverage charges are €20 per person for breakfast and €50–€60 per person for lunch or dinner, depending on the menu selected.
