High in Serra de Monchique, secluded Casa Miradouro overlooks wooded valleys and the Algarve coast. French doors connect the upstairs living room to a dining balcony; three ensuite bedrooms open onto a wraparound terrace. Cork, eucalyptus and pine shade terraced gardens. Local plates, a wood-burner and an equipped kitchen complement the interiors.
Walking and cycling trails and a neighbourhood tasca are nearby. Monchique and Luar da Foia are six minutes by car or 40 on foot; Portimão’s beach and Arrifana’s surf are 45 minutes’ drive. Farther away, Lagos has Moorish rooftops and a lively marina. The electrically covered pool retains warmth and restricts children’s access.

- Standard rental inclusions cover water, gas and electricity; Wi-Fi; air-conditioning and heating where available; bed linen and towels on arrival, with weekly changes for stays exceeding 7 nights; welcome items; final cleaning; and garden and pool upkeep. At properties where the extra notes specify a weekly allowance, electricity, air-conditioning and heating consumption may be capped.
The details
- The entrance/upper level contains a fully equipped kitchen, a living space with dining table and fireplace, and the main ensuite bedroom with a super king-size bed that can be arranged as twins.
- The lower level has three ensuite bedrooms, each offering a super king-size or twin arrangement. One bathroom has a bathtub and two have showers; all three bedrooms open directly onto the pool terrace.
- Outside are a 9m swimming pool with an electric cover, with heating available at additional cost, a tennis court, a second dining area and terraced gardens.
- Air-conditioning and central heating serve the entire house.
- Housekeeping and pre-arrival shopping are included; groceries are charged separately.

Extra notes
Pool heating must be requested in advance and costs EUR 200 per week. An electric pool cover is provided, but the villa’s elevation of 600m above sea level means the water can cool substantially overnight at any time of year.
The full-size tennis court, together with rackets and balls, is available only from April to October. Winter conditions are too wet for play.
Children must be supervised at all times because some terrace railings can be climbed.
The usual rental period runs from Saturday to Saturday. Alternative arrival days may be possible, except Sundays; discuss arrangements with your sales consultant.
Earlier arrival is permitted from 3pm.
