Dimora delle Balze occupies 30 hectares in Sicily’s Iblea Valley, half an hour from Noto. Fortified walls and an original 19th-century tower frame individually designed bedrooms with frescoes, local ceramics and Signoria Firenze linen. One preserves nesting holes from its former life as a chicken coop; zagara, orange blossom, provides the signature fragrance. Courtyards, a winter garden with antique farm equipment, Mediterranean woodland, fruit trees and herb-lined paths invite exploration. A colonnaded terrace has a traditional pizza oven; the saltwater pool has a barbecue bar corner. Nearby excursions include Palazzolo Acreide, Ortigia’s market, Pantalica’s waterfalls and ceramics workshops in Caltagirone.

Extra notes

The minimum stay is three nights from June through September and two nights during the remainder of the year. Arrival and departure may be arranged for any day of the week. The kitchen is for staff use only. Meals can be supplied at an additional charge, and external chefs are not permitted. 6.3 Senses Spa offers treatments and massages using Sisley products daily, on request. Events can be arranged for additional fees. Local regulations require city tax to be paid on site in cash, at approximately €3 per person per night.
