Stone-white interiors overlook olive trees and palms. Ground and first floors each have a kitchen, living/dining area and two bedrooms, allowing families or friends independence. Above, a lounge opens onto a sea-view roof terrace. Outside are a pool, barbecue and eight-seat table with muslin curtains for shaded lunches. Avola, a Baroque seaside town and former tuna port, is known for Nero d’Avola and pizzuta almonds. Its square, seafood restaurants, cafés and bars are walkable; the beach is 500m away. Almost midway between Portopalo di Capo Passero and Syracuse, it is respectively 40 and 30 minutes’ drive from them; UNESCO-listed Noto is 15 minutes inland, Cavagrande del Cassible’s waterfalls and lakes 40.

This semi-detached villa is within the town. Walls fully divide its garden and pool area from the adjoining section, providing privacy. Neighbouring homes can be seen from the house, and some surrounding town noise should be expected. Electricity and air-conditioning are included up to 300 kWh per week. Consumption above 300 kWh incurs an additional charge. Local regulations require the city tax to be paid on site in cash, at approximately €2 per person per night.
