Owned by an aristocratic family for over a century, Palazzo Prati nel Chianti pairs vineyard surroundings with ornate, relaxed interiors. Four-posters, toile de Jouy fabrics, chandeliers and antique maps furnish bedrooms; painted dining-room walls and a historic stone staircase add character. All ages and dogs are welcome. A saltwater pool, pool-house toys, foosball, table tennis, gym and living-room projector offer recreation. Barbecue dining seats 22; pergola sofas overlook sunset hills. Woodland and wildflower walks, autumn truffle hunts and year-round wine tastings complement visits to medieval Siena, walled San Gimignano and 13th-century Castellina, whose winding streets offer wine shopping.

The first floor has four bedrooms: two with four-poster beds, and the others with either a double bed or two single beds. Each has an ensuite shower bathroom; three bathrooms also have bathtubs.
Five second-floor bedrooms have four-poster, twin or double beds, each with an ensuite bathroom.
A fireplace serves the dining room, the sitting room has a television, and a separate living room looks over the vineyards.

A deposit of 50% is due when booking to confirm the reservation. The villa belongs to a larger estate or hamlet, with a church nearby and the estate wine cellar directly across the road. Its private garden and pool provide full privacy. A minor road beside the villa mainly serves access to the hamlet. Traffic is light, although road noise may occasionally be audible. Resident staff live in an apartment on the villa’s second floor. Additional housekeeping costs EUR 20 per hour and is subject to availability. Overtime for the included staff cannot exceed 2 hours per day. Beyond this, another staff member may be engaged for a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 8 hours. Pool heating can be requested for EUR 500 per week. A candlelit dinner in the estate wine cellar can be arranged for EUR 120 per person, plus a EUR 400 setting fee.
