Between Ravello and Atrani, Torre di Civita occupies 2.4 hectares, 300 metres above the Gulf of Salerno. Its 10th-century defensive tower became part of a monastery in the 14th century. The former chapel retains its frescoed salon; a skylight illuminates the rock-cut dining room. Seven en suite bedrooms accommodate 14 guests across four buildings. Later owned by Neapolitan nobility, the estate was restored by an American heiress in the 1950s, welcoming Buzz Aldrin and Sir Laurence Olivier. Today, gardens, a pool and nine terraces overlook mountains, coastline and sea. Ravello’s gardens and festival, Amalfi, Atrani and Positano are accessible; Naples Airport is approximately 90 minutes by car.

Up to 14 guests stay in seven individually styled bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, across four independent buildings: the medieval watchtower La Torre, the former monastery Il Monastero, and the guest houses La Celletta and L'Agrumeto.
Il Monastero is the estate’s central building, with three en suite bedrooms, a frescoed salon occupying the former chapel, a dining room excavated from rock, a library, an Italian salotto, a bar, a games room and a fully equipped kitchen.
At the highest point of the grounds, La Torre contains a private en suite bedroom and a terrace offering 360-degree views of the Gulf of Salerno and surrounding countryside.
La Celletta has a secluded en suite bedroom amid fragrant citrus terraces. Nearby, L'Agrumeto contains two en suite bedrooms, private balconies and terraces facing the gardens. Outdoor spaces include a swimming pool with loungers and hammocks, nine panoramic terraces, a dining area with a traditional wood-fired pizza oven, and several seating areas.
The 2.4-hectare grounds include centuries-old olive groves, lemon orchards, vegetable plots and ornamental gardens, all with views of the Amalfi coastline.
Services included are chef-designed meals, house beverages, a dedicated butler, daily housekeeping, evening turndown and a private pool lifeguard.

Extra notes

The estate occupies a mountaintop 300 metres above sea level. Its four separate buildings are linked by outdoor paths, steps and terraces. Moving around requires using many stairs, and the La Torre watchtower bedroom is particularly high up. The property is not suitable for guests with mobility difficulties. Ravello is approximately 4 km away by road, or around 2 km on foot along a steep uphill route. A car or the estate’s transport service is recommended. Bedrooms are located in four independent buildings: La Torre, L'Agrumeto, Il Monastero and La Celletta. Reaching the main shared areas from some rooms requires going outdoors.
