Restored by a landscape photographer and his painter wife, Townhouse Montalcino combines contemporary interiors, locally sourced linens, paintings and antique-market finds. Its 1.5-hectare estate includes a biodiverse garden, vineyard, orchard and olive grove, with a heated pool and terrace sofas overlooking UNESCO-listed Val d’Orcia.
Medieval Montalcino, known for wine, is seven minutes away on foot. Pienza, Montepulciano, Monticchiello, Bagno Vignoni and San Quirico d'Orcia are within a 30-minute drive. A concierge can arrange Siena excursions and tastings at renowned Brunello estates and smaller family wineries. Outdoors, guests have a barbecue, pizza oven, fire pit and illuminated, wisteria-covered bocce court.

Pool heating is available for €500 per week from May 21 to September 21, to a maximum temperature of 29°C.
The villa has an automatic air exchange system, together with underfloor cooling and heating.
All catering must be supplied by the villa’s management and in-house team. External chefs and third-party caterers are not permitted. A private chef and cooking classes are available on request at an additional charge.
The villa forms part of an operating wine estate. From Monday to Saturday, the agronomist, cellar worker and gardener may be on the grounds tending the vineyards. They work discreetly without disturbing guests’ privacy.
