Jacques Garcia renovated Lord William Waldorf Astor’s estate, incorporating its Pompeii-sourced antiques, marble columns and ancient artefacts. Gucci photographed its 2025 campaign here. Six en suite bedrooms feature hand-painted Pompeiian frescoes and marble bathrooms. The grounds contain first-century AD imperial villa ruins.
A saltwater pool lies within botanical gardens ranked among Italy’s ten finest, with over 1,000 plant species. Terraces once welcomed Princess Margaret and Rudolf Nureyev; the rooftop overlooks Sorrento, Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. Two natural saltwater grottos and a private dock provide sea access and departures to Capri. Sorrento’s centre is five minutes away on foot.

The details
- The ground and lower ground floors together contain two living rooms, a TV room, a breakfast room and a formal dining room that opens onto a sea-facing terrace for alfresco meals.
- On the first floor are two king-size suites, each with an en suite bathroom containing a bathtub and shower, and sea views.
- The second floor has two larger king-size suites with en suite bathrooms, bathtubs and sea views, plus two smaller double bedrooms with en suite shower rooms and garden views.
- Reached by steps, the rooftop provides almost 360-degree views across Sorrento, Mount Vesuvius, the estate and the sea.
- A descent of 100 steps leads to two natural saltwater grottos within the cliff; a private dock provides a further point of direct sea access.
- A small gym with an elliptical trainer and weights occupies the annex, which is connected by an internal staircase.

Extra notes
The minimum stay is seven nights in high season and three nights in low season.
A deposit of 50% is due when booking to secure the reservation.
Special booking terms apply. Guests must sign a bespoke rental contract and an inventory.
A €35,000 security deposit is required. It will be returned within 30 days of departure, provided no damage is reported.
Both check-in and check-out take place between noon and 2pm. Arrivals or departures outside this window require advance arrangements and may incur additional charges.
Events are permitted only on request and are subject to special fees.
