Steps from Ria Formosa’s shore, this single-storey concrete-and-glass house reflects two brothers’ design interests, with artworks and furniture partly drawn from their antique-dealer parents’ collection. All four neutral-toned bedrooms open onto 6,900-square-metre gardens, with no buildings interrupting lagoon and ocean views. Migrating ducks, flamingos and other waterbirds inhabit the wetlands. Poolside loungers, sandy-shore daybeds and kayaking towards a white-sand beach offer different ways outdoors. Luz de Tavira is seven minutes away by car; Tavira’s sights, shops and restaurants are 15 minutes away. Nearby Faro offers boating, fishing, shopping and dining. In-villa wine and port tastings, plus private tours and picnics at Monterosa olive grove, can be arranged.

Housekeeping is provided daily for approximately six hours, except Sundays.

The details

The open-plan sitting and dining space includes a contemporary fireplace and opens directly onto the outdoor dining area.
The fully fitted contemporary kitchen has marble worktops and a breakfast table seating six.
One bedroom has a queen-size bed and an ensuite bathroom; entry is exclusively from outside.
A separate wing contains three double bedrooms, two of which can be arranged with twin beds. Each has an ensuite shower room and terrace access.
Every room opens onto the panoramic terrace and landscaped gardens, which include a 10m pool, a sun deck with loungers, shaded daybeds, several smaller terraces and a large dining area.
Daily breakfast or fresh fish deliveries can be organised on request, along with chefs, transfers and car hire.
