Five minutes’ drive from Elounda, Villa Cien occupies 1.4 hectares of landscaped hillside gardens overlooking the countryside and Bay of Elounda. Its Athenian photographer-architect owner combines memories of childhood summers in Crete with restrained design: local carpenters’ furniture, the owners’ photographs and natural stone give the eight-bedroom, 16-guest house a personal character. Hammocks, shaded terraces, an outdoor kitchen and a 30-seat table encourage outdoor living. A gym offers an exercise bike, boxing bag, weights, table tennis and a massage table. Villa Cienta shares the playground and floodlit tennis, pickleball, volleyball and basketball facilities with a courtside pavilion; together, the villas accommodate 32.

On the ground floor, an open-plan living and dining space includes a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and a sea-facing breakfast bar, with access to the pool terrace.
The ground floor contains two bedrooms with king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms; one also has external access to a terrace overlooking the sea.
Both first-floor bedrooms have king-size beds, en-suite bathrooms and sea-view terraces. One is reached through the main house; the other has separate access by an external staircase.
Two bedrooms are accessible to guests with limited mobility.
The lower ground floor contains a gym and games room, three twin bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, and a king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and access to the pool area.
Outdoor spaces include a 14-metre infinity pool, a terrace with loungers, a fully equipped outdoor kitchen and barbecue area with seating, and a separate pergola with a dining table seating 30. The shared children’s play area includes a climbing frame, swings, an abacus, a seesaw and further equipment.
A newly built sports pitch, shared with the sister villa, includes a tennis court and basketball hoops for different games. A cabinet holds rackets and balls, while a private courtside pavilion provides a sofa and a stocked drinks fridge.
A substantial welcome hamper containing treats personally selected by the owner is included with each stay.

Extra notes

Pool heating can be arranged on request for EUR 600 per week, payable locally. Breakfast service is available on request at an additional charge. The hillside setting provides extensive views, but the approach road is fairly steep. Terraced grounds with drops, several low terrace walls and staircases without railings may make the property unsuitable for young children. A temporary pool fence can be fitted on request to add protection for young children. This is a basic, practical barrier, not a permanent installation or a decorative feature. A neighbouring property sits above and behind Villa Cien’s entrance courtyard. It does not overlook the outdoor pool or dining areas.
