Restored in pale stone and terracotta, Villa delle Ruote reflects its Italian-Nigerian owner’s eye: African textiles, painted Nupe stools from Minna, Bamileke side tables and abstract art. The five-bedroom main house can be rented alone or with three- and two-bedroom annexes. Outdoor gathering spaces seat 20, with shaded dining, garden sofas, a panoramic terrace, poolside Frette towels and two acres scented with rosemary and lavender. Among Montagnola Senese’s oak-covered hills, the villa lies 700m below Radicondoli’s medieval cafés, bars, trattorias and pizzerias, reached uphill on foot. Casole d’Elsa’s restaurants and medieval centre are around 20 minutes by car; Siena is an hour away.

Villa delle Ruote consists of three buildings: a main house accommodating 10 guests and two annexes bookable at an additional charge.
Main villa: The ground floor has two living rooms, one with a fireplace, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. On the first floor are two sitting areas and two double bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub; this floor has both internal and external staircase access. The second floor contains three double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, all overlooking the countryside.
Casa Cristina: Positioned just below the main house, this annexe has an open-plan kitchen and dining area seating 20, plus three double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms; one bedroom can be arranged with twin beds.
Casa Simisola: This annexe contains a kitchen, a living room with a fireplace and two bedrooms: a double with an ensuite bathroom, and a twin that can be converted to a double, with an adjacent bathroom.

Extra notes

Housekeeping is excluded on Sundays and Italian public holidays. Air conditioning and electricity are included within an allowance of 500 units per week. Usage exceeding 500 units incurs an additional charge. Outside chefs are not permitted. A private chef can be arranged on request at an additional fee. Grocery shopping for arrival costs €100, plus the cost of the groceries. Annex 1 adjoins the main villa without an internal connection and sits on a slightly lower level than the main house.
