Surrounded by woodland and pastures, hilltop Villa I Molini overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea. Gardens combine statues, clipped hedges, vine-covered stone paths, tree-shaded breakfast spots and pergola dining; lemon scents reach the pool. Patterned tiles and rich colours define the interiors. Three of eight bedrooms form family suites; one opens onto a private panoramic rooftop terrace, another has a restored vaulted frescoed ceiling. Massa Lubrense’s tavernas are under a mile away. Beaches include Marina del Cantone, facing the Gulf of Salerno, and Spiaggia di Puolo. Sorrento offers ferries to Amalfi, Positano and Capri. Nerano’s beachfront restaurants are 20 minutes’ drive away; reserve ahead for three-Michelin-starred Quattro Passi.

The details

The ground floor contains two family suites. The first comprises two double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room, with partial sea views. The second has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom sharing a bathroom, and can only be entered from the garden.
Two suites occupy the first floor. One has a double bedroom on an upper level overlooking the living area, with balcony access. The other comprises two double bedrooms and a large living room, with access to a covered terrace and a rooftop sun terrace.
The first-floor suites have restored frescoed ceilings.
A separate pool house contains a living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a dining table seating 12.
The grounds include a professional outdoor kitchen for the chef, a barbecue, a wood-fired pizza oven and a 6-metre pool overlooking the sea.
An unheated Jacuzzi seats eight and has sea views.
A shuttle to Massa Lubrense’s main square is available on request during morning hours, until 4pm.

The approach to Villa I Molini follows a narrow street accessible only to small vehicles. A free shuttle to the nearby parking area in Massa Lubrense operates twice daily between 8am and 4pm, or between 8am and noon on Sundays. Transfers after 4pm can be requested and carry an additional charge for each journey. The villa shares a boundary with another building, which can be seen only from the entrance gate. This building is seldom occupied and does not compromise the villa’s privacy. The outdoor kitchen is for staff use only. Outside chefs are not allowed. A private chef can be arranged on request at an additional charge. Housekeeping is excluded on Sundays and Italian public holidays. Unprotected drops and slopes around the grounds mean young children require supervision at all times. Local regulations require payment of the city tax on site in cash, approximately €3.50 per person per night.
