On Lake Como’s eastern Como shore, Villa Il Molo is a neoclassical house in medieval Torno. A jasmine-covered pergola shelters terrace dining beside the heated pool and lake-facing sofas. Carrara marble, chandeliers, clawfoot baths, stone fireplaces and toile de Jouy fabrics define the interiors. Most individually named bedrooms overlook the lake.
A conservatory playroom offers table football and table tennis; the kitchen suits Italian cooking classes. A renovated annexe offers independence. Torno has restaurants including Michelin-starred Il Sereno Al Lago, Santa Tecla’s 11th-century church and a 45-minute trail to Montepiatto, 2km away. Ferries and private charters serve the lake; Bellagio is 45 minutes by boat, Moltrasio seven minutes by taxi.

The details
- The ground floor contains a lake-view living room opening to the pool, a formal dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry room and a guest bathroom. All floors are linked by a Carrara marble staircase and a lift.
- On the first floor, a living room has lake views and a decorative fireplace. The Yellow Suite includes a king-size bed, its own terrace, a walk-in wardrobe, a bathtub and a separate shower. The connecting Pink Suite and Grey Bedroom both overlook the lake and have clawfoot bathtubs. The Grey Bedroom’s bed is 1.6 metres wide, narrower than a standard double.
- The second floor contains four bedrooms—Lila, Green, Pink and Yellow—of which three overlook the lake. There is also a conservatory games room with table football, table tennis and a guest bathroom, plus access to the rear garden.
- More modest than the main house, the annexe is reached by a steep internal staircase. It contains a king-size bedroom that can be arranged as twins, a shower bathroom and a small living area with direct access to the pool.
- The grounds include a heated pool with hydromassage, a lakefront terrace with a pergola, outdoor dining and lake-facing sofas, and a private jetty providing direct lake access.

Extra notes
The house stands within a village, with neighbouring properties around it. Outdoor space consists only of a lake-facing terrace of approximately 200 sqm and a small rear garden.
The annexe is smaller and simpler than the main house. It offers a quiet, independent space for staff, a nanny or a resident chef, close to the villa’s communal rooms and pool.
The dock is directly on the lake and allows convenient boat access. Some background noise from the waterfront may be audible.
Cars cannot reach the villa directly. From the village, guests walk approximately 500 metres to the house, with luggage porterage provided. Boats can arrive directly at the property. Parking for two mid-size cars is available in the town’s main square, approximately 500 metres away.
A 50% deposit is payable when booking to secure the reservation. A separate €1,500 deposit covers additional expenses, including groceries, cook services and extra housekeeping.
The Municipality of Torno strictly enforces quiet hours from 8pm to 8am. The luggage vehicle cannot run during these hours or on Sundays. Arrival outside the agreed time is therefore prohibited, including in the event of delays or emergencies, unless expressly authorised beforehand. An approved late check-in costs €250. Arrivals after 8:30pm are not accepted under any circumstances.
Check-out between 6am and 8am requires one month’s notice and costs €250. Guests leaving during these hours must place their luggage in the owner’s private storage by 7pm the previous evening.
Parties, weddings, events, commercial filming and commercial photography require the owner’s prior written permission.
Heating carries an additional charge. Local city tax must be paid on site in cash under local regulations, at approximately €3 per person per night.
Italian law requires a full guest list, including names, dates of birth and passport numbers, one month before arrival. Entry to the villa is allowed only once guests have been registered.
