Between two beaches, Villa la Macy occupies a pine-and-cypress hill, combining quiet surroundings with resort proximity. Agia Pelagia and Lygaria are under ten minutes away by car; their sheltered bays offer usually calm water, respectively sandy resort shores and a local-favoured sand-and-pebble beach. Heraklion and Knossos Palace’s Minoan ruins are 30 minutes away. Contemporary Californian influences shape the interiors. Both terrace-opening bedrooms and the open-plan living-dining room overlook the sea, as do deckchairs and double sunbeds. Manicured gardens and cacti surround the turquoise pool; a hammock, shaded cushions and outdoor table provide places to read, share wine or play cards.
